Hitched Imaging was established by me, Paula Smith, to provide couples with my award winning photographic style. I’m a full-time professional photographer working to capture images that communicate life’s moments, messages and memories.
I live in London and photograph weddings and civil partnerships throughout London, the UK and occasionally beyond.
Why do I do it? Because I love it! I love getting to know people. I love the emotion, excitement, tears and joy. Ultimately, I love capturing moments – from quiet unseen ones, to those you’ll never want to forget.
Style and Approach
I use an observational ‘reportage’ style to record the story of your special day as it unfolds. I photograph events in a spontaneous un-posed way, working without direction, and moving discreetly around to capture the action as it happens in a candid, unobtrusive style.
Of course, knowing how important some of the formal posed shots are, I’m happy to photograph a few of those too and we’ll meet in advance to come up with a brief that’s personal to your requirements.
What is reportage style photography?
Reportage style photography is a storytelling approach to capturing events in an ‘as it happens’ way. Shots aren’t set up or posed. This has become increasingly popular because it captures the real essence of a day recording natural expressions and the celebratory atmosphere.
How I will work with you
The nature of reportage style photography means that you can’t predict exactly which moments will be captured when. But rest assured I’ll follow the timetable of your day to capture your key moments, from the preparations through to the dancing.
I’ll also be there to capture the special details – clothing, shoes, rings, flowers, table arrangements, venue, and the more formal group shots as you require.
Using a creative eye I’ll be looking for moments that give a well rounded document of your day. It’s my mission to create a collection that’s about YOU and the PEOPLE YOU LOVE.
